Cataldo Capozza

Cataldo Capozza was one of the original members and shareholders of the 130 year old New York Mercantile Exchange. He died on December 28, 2008 at the age of 65.

Capozza fought a long battle to protect the equity interests of NYMEX seatholders as the exchange moved into the era of electronic trading, went through an IPO, and was ultimately bought by the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

In 2000, Capozza, together with Cambridge Technology Partners and former NYMEX Chairman Daniel Rappaport, worked to establish NYMEX's first electronic trading system, known as E-NYMEX. [1]
