Christian Nentwich is the CEO and a co-founder and director of Duco, a London-based technology company focused on post-trade services for financial market firms.

He has more than 10 years of experience with financial technology and processes. He was named in Financial News' 40 under 40 Rising Stars of Trading and Technology in 2014.[1]

Nentwich sits on the advisory board of Satatia, a London-based technology startup.

Background

Nentwich co-founded Duco, along with chief technology officer Michael Marconi, founded Duco as a spin-off from Model Two Zero, a technology firm founded by the pair in 2006. In 2012, investments by fintech venture capital firm Euclid Opportunities and inter-dealer broker ICAP.[2]

Before Duco, he founded and sold his previous company, Systemwire, and advised multiple tier one investment banks, fund managers, clearing houses and ISDA on standards and data strategy.

He also acted as chairman of the Validation Working Group of the Financial Products Markup Language (FpML) from its inception in 2003 until 2005.

Education

Christian holds a BSc and PhD in Computer Science from University College London, and is a winner of its medal of the Faculty of Mathematical and Physical Sciences.

Reconcilable Differences: Duco’s Christian Nentwich on what can be done to address reconciliation problems in the financial industry

Christian Nentwich, CEO and co-founder of Duco, says the reconciliation landscape today is behind the times and that large chunks of it are being done manually, sometimes by hundreds or thousands of staff at the bigger brokerage firms.

In some places there is too little reconciliation going on, and in others there is too much, he told John Lothian News at FIA Boca.
