Diane Eastabrook is a Correspondent at Al Jazeera America

Previously, she was the Chicago bureau chief and correspondent on PBS's Nightly Business Report. She was laid off from Nightly Business Report when they closed their Chicago Bureau.[1]

In July, 2012, she interviewed John J. Lothian on the futures industry's reaction to the bankruptcy, and subsequent missing customer funds, of the FCM PFGBest. She had been with the program since 1993 and has reported on various topics including the auto industry, manufacturing, agriculture, commodities, housing, and small business.[2] Her features also appear on WTTW's Chicago Tonight.

Background

Eastabrook started out her career in 1982, reporting as a weekend anchor and general assignment for WSAW TV in Wausau, WI. In 1986, she moved to a similar position at Peoria Illinois's WEEK-TV. Eastabrook then moved into the business reporting space when she took a job at WNYT Albany covering consumer scams, product testing and consumer financing up until her start at nightly Business report.

Education

Eastabrook received a B.A. in Journalism from Northern Illinois University in 1982.
