Heike Eckert is the chief operating officer of Eurex Clearing AG and has been a member of the executive board of Eurex Clearing AG since April 2013.[1]

She also serves on the supervisory board of the European Energy Exchange AG, and was elected chairwoman on April 17, 2019.[2]

As of 1 July 2020, Eckert will be appointed as full member of the executive board of Deutsche Börse AG and will be responsible for the newly formed Executive Board division, Human Resources and Compliance. She also succeeds Hauke Stars as director of labour relations.[3]

Background

Heike Eckert has over 15 years of experience in the financial industry. She has been head of clearing business development at Eurex Clearing since May 2010 where she was responsible for the development of new clearing services for derivatives, securities and repo products. Since joining Deutsche Boerse Group in June 1995, Eckert has held a number of different leadership and project management positions at Deutsche Boerse Group and Eurex. From January 2007 until September 2009 she was responsible for the management of Eurex’s business in the U.S.

Education

Eckert holds a degree in Economics from Christian Albrecht Universität in Kiel with a major in Econometrics and also attended the Université de Sciences Sociales Toulouse and the Universität Passau for Business Administration.
