J. Tomilson Hill is President and CEO of the Funds of Hedge Funds group, a Vice Chairman of The Blackstone Group, and also a member of the board of directors of Blackstone Group Management L.L.C.[1].

Background

Previously, Hill worked at First Boston, and later became one of the Co-Founders of its Mergers & Acquisitions Department.

After running the Mergers & Acquisitions Department at Smith Barney, he joined Lehman Brothers as a partner in 1982, serving as Co-Head and subsequently Head of Investment Banking.

Later, he served as CEO of Lehman Brothers and Co-President and Co-COO of Shearson Lehman Brothers Holding Inc..

He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations where he chairs the Investment Committee and serves on the Council’s Board of Directors, and is a member of the Board of Directors of Lincoln Center Theater, where he serves as Chairman.

J. Tomilson Hill serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Smithsonian’s Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden. He is a member of the Advisory Board of Christie’s and a member of the Board of Directors of OpenPeak Inc.

Education

J. Tomilson Hill is a graduate of Harvard College, and the Harvard Business School[2].
