Jay Sorkin has been working in the financial industry for over 35 years. He has been a member of the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) for over 25 years and served as a director at the exchange for two years. He also teaches courses on professional development and futures and options markets, most recently at Northwestern University. 
Sorkin is currently a consultant to the capital markets focused on the structure of business, organizational theory, knowledge management and information flow. He also serves on the advisory board for the Review of Futures Markets, a publication of the Institute for Financial Markets. 
Sorkin began his career as a market maker and broker, first at the Chicago Board Options Exchange, then at the CBOT. During that time, he was involved with the development of the 30-year T-bond options on futures contract.
Since retiring from the trading floor, he has traveled extensively around the United States and Europe, informing markets through speaking engagements about Treasury options. Previously, he hosted a nationally-syndicated radio program titled The Futures Exchange.
Sorkin still holds a membership at CME Group.
Sorkin holds a Bachelors of Science and a Masters in Science from Northern Illinois University.
