Riffice worked as a trader on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, the Chicago Board of Trade and the Liffe in interest rate products and has been a member of several floor based committees. He joined MF Global, then known as Man Financial, in March 2002, having previously been a director of Digital Brokers.
Riffice was the subject of a trade practice investigation at the [CME Group]] in 2008. However, the investigation led to no disciplinary action, but the CME Group did issue him a warning letter. Riffice appealed the warning letter to the CFTC, however since a warning letter is not an appealable exchange action, the dismissed the appeal because it lacked jurisdiction.
Riffice graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1990 and served in Operation Desert Storm.
