Robert Manor is a volunteer prison and jail observer at John Howard Association. 
From 2000 to 2008, Manor reported on the energy, utilities and financial services industry for the Chicago Tribune. From 1997 to 2000, he covered the utility and telecommunications industries for the Chicago Sun-Times. Before coming to Chicago, he reported on the automotive and manufacturing industry for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. 
Manor received a degree from San Francisco State University in 1974.
