Steven Schoenfeld is chief investment officer of BlueStar Indexes and the founder and managing member of its parent company, BlueStar Global Investors LLC. He is a 28-year veteran of the investment management industry.  He is also the founder and publisher of IsraelStrategist.com, an online resource on Israel's economy, companies and markets.
Before founding BlueStar, Schoenfeld was the managing partner of Global Index Strategies LLC, a New York-based consulting firm focused on index design, asset allocation, investment policy research, and capital market development.
He served as the director of the Division of Market Oversight at the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) from September of 2009 to December 2009. He also serves on the advisory board of Duke University's Global Capital Markets Center and is a member of the Pacific Council on International Policy.
Before his stint at the CFTC he served as president at Global Index Strategies, a consulting firm that specializes in benchmarks and financial product development. Before assuming the presidency at Global Index Strategies, Schoenfeld held numerous positions in the financial industry, including CIO of Global Quantitative Management at Northern Trust, managing director at Barclays Global Investors, investment officer at the International Finance Corporation/World Bank and a futures trader at the Singapore Exchange.
