The annual Super Bowl of Indexing® Conference [1], begun in 1996, bills itself as "the ultimate institutional investment and risk management forum." Known for attracting high-level practitioners and financial luminaries as speakers on its programs, it offers a comprehensive program covering indexing and quantitative investment products and strategies.

Its annual invitation-only event held late each year typically attracts more than 600 senior investment staff from many of the largest pension funds in North America as well as newer staff members at pension, endowment and foundation funds and, in particular, board members who want to learn about ways of controlling and managing investment risk, without sacrificing return.

Each year, a number of achievement awards in various categories are awarded, including (since 2005) the annual William F. Sharpe Indexing Achievement Awards.
