Thomas Knorring is the former vice president, business development at the Chicago Board Options Exchange. He has been with the Cboe for 40+ years, leading the exchange's development and management of market data services.[1]

He was inducted into the Inside Market Data Hall of Fame on May 18, 2016.[2]

Background

Knorring played a key role in modernizing Cboe's market data systems to accommodate increasing quote and messaging traffic. He also oversaw the exchange's creation of its first electronic book and auto quote system.

He was the first non-stock exchange executive to serve as chairman of both the Consolidated Tape Association and the Unlisted Trading Privileges. He served as Cboe's representative to the Options Price Reporting Authority (OPRA).

Education

Knorring has a degree in mathematics from Northern Illinois University. He holds a KSM degree from Northwestern's Kellogg School of Business.[3]
