Tim Bennett is CEO of New Zealand Exchange (NYX). He was appointed to that position in May 2012. He has more than 20 years experience in international financial markets and commodity market development, particularly in Asia, the Middle East and North America. Bennett’s role in NZX focuses on strengthening the New Zealand market as well as maintaining connectivity to Asia and other exchange operators. 
Bennett was previously a partner in Oliver Wyman's retail and business banking practice. Prior to his role in Oliver Wyman, Bennett was a partner at the Asia and Australia branch of The Boston Consulting Group, where he was a leader of the strategy practice for Asia-Pacific from 2006 to 2009 and a leader of the financial services practice for South East Asia from 2002 to 2006.
Bennett holds an MBA in Strategy and Finance from Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, and a Bachelor of Commerce and Administration (Computer Science and Business Administration) from Victoria University of Wellington.
