Todd E. Petzel, Ph.D.  is chief investment officer of Offit Capital Advisors LLC, a registered investment advisor (RIA) with approximately $5 billion under advisement. Petzel also serves as a public representative on the board of directors of National Futures Association.
Prior to joining Offit Capital, Petzel was a founding partner and chief investment officer of Azimuth Asset Management, a position he held from 2003 to 2007. From 1996 to 2002, he served as chief investment officer of Commonfund, an asset manager and fund of funds. Prior to his work at Commonfund, he served as chief economist at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange and in a similar role at the Coffee, Sugar and Cocoa Exchange. He has also taught classes in economics and finance at the University of Chicago, Stanford University and Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota. He has written extensively about the markets and is the author of Financial Futures and Options: A Guide to Markets, Applications, and Strategies.
He holds a Ph.D., an MA and a BA, with honors, in Economics from the University of Chicago.
