Chip Dempsey is an independent consultant in projects ranging from business development to capital consulting who has been characterized as a markets and clearing rainmaker.[1]

He has helped to design a pan-African network of clearinghouses and been an adviser on international expansion. He has contributed as an editor to publications of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and the Swiss Futures and Options Association. He has been a panelist and speaker at many international derivatives exchange and clearing and settlement conferences.

He is mentioned in the acknowledgement section of Michael Covel book Trend Following: Learn to Make Millions In Up Or Down Markets.[2]

In April of 2011, Dempsey won a platform name contest from the Eris Exchange. Dempsey won an Apple iPad 2 for his entry of "Eris Swapbook" for the name of the exchange's central limit order book and RFQ trading platform.[3]


Dempsey has been an options market maker, interbank FX trader, and software and market data salesperson. He previously managed global sales, strategy and new business development as senior vice president at SunGard Futures Systems, CQG and The Clearing Corporation.[4]
