Robert Goldberg is a banker, former futures brokerage executive, floor trader a who was a founder of Burling Bank and co-founder of Goldberg Brothers, a leading CBOT clearing firm sold to LIT Holdings in 1988, which became part of LIT America.
He is a board member of Burling Bank in Chicago.
Goldberg was a member of the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) Since 1963 and served as its chairman in 1985. From 1968 to 1988, he was owner/partner of Goldberg Brothers and Goldberg Securities with offices located in Chicago, New York, San Francisco and Philadelphia. He has also been a member of the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE). He founded Goldberg Brothers Commodities Inc., along with his brother David Goldberg.
He has served on the boards of DePaul University, LINK Unlimited, the LaSalle Club, Notre Dame High School for Boys and Woodlands Academy and currently serves as a Life Trustee of DePaul University.
From 1992 to 2002, he was a high school girls' basketball coach, twice honored as Chicago Class A Coach of the Year.
